Sixt launches services in China

Sixt AG, the global provider of high-quality mobility services, is continuing its international expansion by launching its services in China. The first Sixt service point has been opened in Beijing. Other service points will follow in Shanghai by the end of the year and in Guangzhou (Canton) next year. Sixt will initially offer its customers in China lease cars and the Sixt limousine service, where passengers are driven by a chauffeur. Sixt is the first international mobility services provider to use only premium vehicles in the Chinese market.

China is a market of the future with strong growth prospects for mobility services. In particular, the urban conglomerations in the east and south of the country show dynamic development. In these regions, the number of offices of international companies is growing continuously, ensuring that mobility needs will continue to increase there. In China, as in India, it is already common for business people to make use of chauffeur services.

Individually tailored mobility offerings

In contrast to the fairly rigid leasing packages usually available in China, Sixt has developed flexible and individually tailored leasing solutions. For example, Sixt offers its customers fleet consulting, fleet management and modular fullservice leasing.

The Sixt limousine service is also being launched in China. It will provide specially trained chauffeurs and high-quality vehicles with premium features. The service is aimed at transfers between the airport and city center and sightseeing trips for discerning customers, for example, as well as at event services and corporate customers.

In its first month of operations, Sixt China won contracts with well-known international companies such as Siemens, Hitachi, Kempinski Hotels and Fraser Service Company.

Fleet of high-quality vehicles

The Sixt fleet in China consists of vehicles with high-quality features and fittings from Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus and VW. On request, leasing customers can choose from an even wider range of vehicles. The fleet is set to grow to around 10,000 vehicles within five years.

Sixt operates in China via the domestic franchise partner SaikeSite China Auto Corporation Ltd. The car-trading company has extensive experience in the Chinese auto market.

Erich Sixt, CEO of Sixt AG: "Sixt has prepared its market entry into China with the greatest of care. We overcame a large number of regulatory hurdles and have now found a suitable partner with whom we can offer Sixt's services in China in line with our quality standards. I am confident that we will manage to become one of the leading rental and leasing companies in China in the medium to long term."
